and the significance of making time for them
Have you ever looked up the actual Webster's dictionary definition of the word "friend"?
No?
That's okay. Most people know the gist of the meaning of the word, but here's what it actually means...
"A person who has a strong liking for and trust in another person."
Look at those words!
"Strong liking....trust...."
Pretty powerful definition if you ask me. People need other people like this in their lives. It's society...human nature...and in this crazy time of COVID that word "friend" is even more important than ever.
I'd say most people probably have that one person, or more, that you can talk to about anything or do anything with them. It can be anyone! Siblings, other family, people you grew up with, people who may live far away, hell it could even be someone you just met or your dog or cat.
When telling stories the "I" or "me" can become "we" or "us" and to me that's much more fun. Who wants to go through life without other people alongside with you?
Friends are the people you share your smile with. They laugh with you about the stupid things, maybe even the serious things. You feel comfortable with them cackling in the middle of the mall or the restaurant while people stare and you don't care.

Friends are also the ones you can cry with. You cry about the sad things and even the happy things. Even if they have nothing to say, they are there to offer a shoulder and you let your face make the ugliest cry face because you know the shoulder you're leaning on is there to comfort you. They offer the ugly truth because only the truest of friendships can and you know it's only in their best intentions because of their love for you.
Reach out! Don't let friendships die because someone moves away, or you don't go to the same school, or because you may have different friends outside if yourselves. It takes effort having a long distance relationship right? Well, the same applies for your friends. <3

"I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more..."

A lifetime can be a long time and your best friends will stick with you the whole way. Sometimes they have to because they're your sister or brother. Love you, sissy!
So, to making new friends! I invite you to join me in a virtual celebratory toasts to friends everywhere!
