Favorite Book

Who doesn't love to sink themselves into a good book and get lost in thoughts and imagination?

When I was little I used to hate reading. I was bad at it, slow, and stuttered over my words, but now one of my favorite past times is to read. I think it's even helped turn me into a better writer.

Some of the series I've enjoyed are The Hunger Games, Twilight, and Divergent. I went through all three of these serious quite fast as I couldn't put these books down! Sadly, I still have yet to read the Harry Potter books.

My favorite book right now though is The Fix by David Baldacci. As I've mentioned before, Baldacci is definitely my favorite author with a close second of Jeannette Walls. They both write amazing novels!

The Fix follows Baldacci's beloved detective character, Amos Decker. In the beginning of the book he witnessed a murder followed by a suicide as he was on his way to work at the FBI headquarters. The novel follows Decker as he tried to uncover why the murder happened in the first place.

It's a brilliant novelization and I can't wait to read more of Baldacci's Amos Decker books.

The Glass Castle was a required book when I was a senior in high school and I absolutely loved it.

It has since turned into a movie which I have yet to see, but we all know the books are better.

This novel is a memoir following Jeannette's personal childhood memories.

"The book recounts the unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing Jeannette and her siblings had at the hands of their deeply dysfunctional parents. The title refers to her father’s long held intention of building his dream house, a glass castle."
