Day 19: My First Love

My First Love

It's not easy saying "I love you" for the first time to someone. Love is a pretty strong word.

People say all the time that they love something or someone close to them. I know I do. I love food (who doesn't), I love coffee, I love my dog, I love my family and friends, I love this or that. Even though the word 'love' may have one general definition, it means different things depending on whatever the topic is. Love towards my family isn't the same love I have towards macaroni and cheese, for instance.

Here is the first definition from Webster:

"strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties"

The same concept can go towards people as well. For example, I didn't marry my "high school sweetheart". Yes, I had a certain love towards my high school boyfriend, but my first love...my first REAL love...the feeling of being IN love was with my husband, Jared. We have the kind of love that's inseparable, intimate, and passionate. It's the kind of "first love" feeling that's unforgettable. He shows me the kind of love that makes me laugh and cry (in good ways). We share love that's worth celebrating. It's our two year wedding anniversary on Oct. 21st, actually, that's tomorrow!

One question I get pretty often is how I met Jared. Actually, we met on Match! I had spoken to a couple other guys and went on some blind dates, but obviously they didn't work out. I was about to close my account and come to terms with possibly being single forever when my phone alerted me with another Match message. I open it and see a message from a super handsome guy named Jared. We went on our first date, continued texting each other and hanging out, and the rest is history. We dated for a year, got engaged and then married a year later! When you know, you know.

Happy Anniversary to my first true love! <3
