Our First House!

My husband and I are in the house buying process for the first time! Let me tell you it's been quite the journey as I'm sure most of you know. I wanted to build a post for my inspiration on our new house. Maybe even you will be inspired and will want to redecorate a little and give yourself a change. It may be nice if you've been stuck inside staring at the same things everyday. Our closing date is September 25th so it's creeping up around the corner fast!
Our new bungalow is going to be a cute, little duplex. It's got the perfect amount of space inside and out to be our starter home and we stole it at a GREAT price.

Cute, right?! We certainly love it. Inside currently there is a bright blue and green color on the walls. Even after growing up in FL and living here for most of my life I never really cared for the beach (crazy, I know), but we've decided that the beach theme is what we'll start with, so we're keeping the blue and repainting the green. After endless Pinterest scrolling, I've finally come across the perfect new color scheme and I LOVE it.

The bedrooms currently have a really ugly, dull gray color so we're repainting both rooms Gray Owl (a). The bathroom vanities will be Silver Mink (d) and the kitchen cabinets are going to be Sea Salt (b). I currently have no plans for c. or e. yet, but I'm sure they'll come into play somewhere along the way. The kitchen and bathrooms are going to need to most updating, but I'm going to start in the kitchen because I LOVE to cook and that's my favorite room in the house. The cabinets are currently the old 80's laminate with oak rimmed handle. More Pinterest came into play when trying to figure our how to salvage these cabinets without spending a crap ton of money and buying new ones. Here's what I came up with...check this out!
This is a great site explaining how to resurface and paint those ugly 80's cabinets! This will be the final product...just without the pretty trim. We're also going to add gold pulls to all of the cabinets and drawers. It's going to be so pretty and really brighten up the house. The farmhouse sink in this photo is my dream, but probably won't happen in this house. We're also going to add butcher block counter tops eventually!

I don't have a lot of plans for the bathrooms yet, but once I do I'll show everybody! The kitchen cabinets and hardware were the main upgrades that we're gonna try to do first. We're also needing to expand the tiny driveway so our plan is to widen it with pavers as the city won't allow us to lay down concrete.
We are so excited to paint and start these projects! Since we've been living in one bedroom apartments for the last 5 years we don't have a whole lot of furniture. We would barely be able to furnish the living room with what we have. Our plan is to get a sleeper sectional for the living room so we can have guests stay over because eventually our guest room is going to be for a little Frazier ^_^
We will share more once we get settled in and figure out more of what we're going to do! Visit my Pinterest board for more inspo! <3
