"Under the Sea"

A lot of people have asked me throughout my pregnancy if I have a "theme" and I always say...
"YES! It all started with a whale."

My sister got me this whale and thought it would be cute hung up in the nursery and that's where it all began. It was a little bit of a challenge because with an ocean theme there's a lot of blues and we're having a girl. I also had already picked a blue-ish gray paint color for the room (Silver Mink) and that made it a little darker.
Then my mom researched some of the children's bedroom decor and found Pillowfort brand at Target. If y'all haven't seen this stuff, you should because it's SUPER adorable. So, the next thing we added was a pillow and decided to incorporate the pillow colors into the room. It was the perfect idea.

The mint, coral pink, and mustard colors were the perfect addition the to blues we already had started. Little by little we thought about adding some decals on the wall and my mom found the perfect sea animals. They added just the right amount of pink to make it a little more girly.
These decals were hand painted with water color!! I absolutely love them. The rest of what we did were just come other minor touches to make the room look more girly. That mirror we added was another Pillowfort addition and turned out perfect in that corner. The manatee picture was a steal for only $10 on Facebook marketplace! We love the greens that it brought into the space. The only thing we still want is the Pillowfort area rug that matches the pillow and mirror. I think having some kind of carpet on the floor will make it a little more comfy.

The table by the rocking chair was originally the perfect blue, but again we needed more pink so we tried to bring in more of that coral color. My mom and I looked at so many colors at Lowes and found this Sweet Sixteen color. We love it! We added last minute girl touches with those pink blankets and called it about done!

We're so excited to meet you, sweet girl!!
